About the artist
Jacqueline began her artistic journey at the Academy of Sint-Niklaas, where she mastered the fundamentals of drawing with graphite and charcoal. A personal turning point led her toward colour, and acrylic paint became her medium of choice. She uses traditional materials in an unconventional way, an intuitive move that evolved into her distinctive style.
She paints in carefully built layers, recently embracing OSB panels as a nod to the Arte Povera movement's embrace of humble materials. Her work now lives in vibrant abstraction: compositions of gradients, lines, and squares that stir both the eye and the subconscious. Shaped by her classical training and long-standing engagement with piano, Jacqueline's work reflect a pursuit of clarity through rhythmic patterns, guided movement, and uninhibited expression. Inspired by artists like Gerhard Richter and Helen Frankenthaler, she continues to push the boundaries of control, letting her colour palette take the lead.
Today, Jacqueline's artworks have found homes in spaces that resonate with their unique character. No commissioned piece leaves her studio until it perfectly complements its destination. For Jacqueline, harmony must exist both on the canvas and all around it.
